Foot care

by Caroline
(Toronto Canada)

I always wonder why some women don’t pay more attention to their feet. I hate seeing soles and heels that are cracked or really rough, I feel like walking up to them and asking them why they let that happen. Here’s something that I tried that worked for me. Each night before you go to sleep, apply Vaseline all over your feet and then pull on a pair of cotton socks. Wear them overnight. If you are like me, you will see some improvement after one night. Keep doing it every night for as long as it takes.

I like to treat myself to a pedicure every once in a while, but it’s too expensive to do it on a regular basis. So I try to make sure that I keep my feet in good shape on my own. I soak my feet at least a couple of times a week while I am watching TV. I try to make it a routine (Sunday and Thursday nights) so I don’t miss doing it.

Once I had a planter’s wart on the bottom of my big toe. After I soaked my feet, I would put a couple of tea tree oil drops on the wart. That combination helped me to get rid of it.

I really try hard to prevent foot problems. I always dry my feet very carefully, especially around my toes. I keep my nails short but not too short. I only buy shoes that fit me properly.

I also find blisters very painful so I do everything I can to prevent them from happening. Whenever I am going on a long hike, or playing tennis, I wear two thin pairs of socks. That way the socks slide against each other.

Your site gave me some good tips for looking after my feet. I may only treat myself to a spa pedicure once a year now!
